Our history

The studio space, established in the 1950’s began as a traditional signboard shop making typographic boards in Mumbai. It evolved into one of the city’s premier banner painting workshops creating large scale hand painted banners for Indian films. A few decades later the space made its mark as a leading art direction studio, in advertising and film, working with agencies and production houses such as Ogilvy, Saatchi and Saatchi and YashRaj Films among many others.

In 2017, Devashish Guruji and Priyanka Chaurasia started GAS out of the same space. Born out of a natural progression of the studio’s story - an agency that rounds off these artistic and creative services to work with people and companies to create impactful design, communication and experiences.

With the vision to become a passionate creative partner for the best businesses and brands worldwide, GAS offers innovative communication and brand experience solutions. It builds and drives stories for you, to reach and win the hearts of your audiences.

DEVASHISH GURUJI
Co-Founder, Strategist, Creative Director and Designer

Devashish is the Co-Founder, Lead Designer and Creative Director at GAS. Over the past 12 years he has worked with upcoming businesses and global brands across engagements to tell their stories visually and effectively. An artist at heart, Devashish seeks the edge in storytelling and the artistry in his design work.

PRIYANKA CHAURASIA
Co-Founder, Design Director and Producer

Priyanka Chaurasia is the Co-founder and Design Director at GAS. She is passionate about building systems and structure giving every project its logic to work at a consumer level. Priyanka thrives doing packaging design, studying user and consumer patterns and creating methods of research for effective design.

VINOD GURUJI
Production Designer, Space and materials expert

Vinod Guruji is a prolific art director with work spanning 30+ years across film, advertising, theatre and events. He is our in-house consultant for everything space and build related. His strength is his understanding of material and fabrication which allows us at GAS to bring to life extraordinary ideas.
