ABOUT
Invincible Women is a sporting event aimed at making fitness accessible to Indian women from all walks of life and age groups. The event makes active lifestyles less intimidating for participants.
ROLE
G.A.S. was approached by Smiling Tiger Experiences LLP to design an identity, one that could be used primarily on the race t-shirts. The identity needed to be Indian, relatable and convey strength.
Encouraging, Inclusive and Enjoyable
The logomark is an identity for an all women’s run that would be used primarily at a large event-based scale and as the main graphic on the race day t-shirts worn by over 2000 women.
The identity needed to be Indian, feminine and convey strength for a sporting event aimed at makingrunning accessible to Indian women from all walks of lifeand age groups.
Constructing the Identity
Invincible Women’s identity found its inspiration in the feminine strength of goddesses. The forms, stances and composition were loosely inspired from their depiction. The woman in her Indianised running gear is strong and graceful. Her braid encircles her in a powerful way, with an energy and abandon, uniting the illustration and the wordmark, creating the final composition. The flower at the end of the braid is made up of hearts to bring the warmth of community in sporting events. Elements from the typeface are used as the building blocks for the illustration, creating the units for the braid and the heart, while inspiring a lot of the curves in the character’s body.
