ABOUT

What You Need is a nutraceutical brand that addresses women’s concerns through their lives from puberty to menopause. Their products come in the form of mints, creams, sprays and wipes with mints positioned to be the best-selling product.

ROLE

G.A.S. was responsible for naming, brand and communication strategy, branding and brand design, product strategy and architecture and packaging design.

What You Need is your
companion, moving you forward from one moment to the next with ease and joy.

Every individual is on their own journey through their lives. What You Need is your companion to help you move from one moment to your next, with ease. It is serious about your need to be your best self and live your best life. It is science on your shelf, for times when you need it the most. Created and designed for the woman who wants to be in control of her journey, through her good days and not-so-great-ones; she is assured; You have What You Need.

The ‘free-form.’

A key takeaway from our workshops was transitionary trauma in a person’s life. WYN’s products are meant for transitionary phases of your life - puberty, pregnancy, menopause. The logo mark was based on this thought - of being in a space of transition. We created a system that we called the ‘free-form’; feminine and captured in a state of change. The ‘free form’ is used across the packaging system and is allowed to expand and contract lending to an expansive and luxurious visual system that is applied across multiple packs to create the entire range of WYN products.

The packaging design required us to create a system across 16 packs, that could be expanded to more additions. We began with 5 main categories.

Product Categories

What You Need has 5 categories we helped create for the product architecture. What You Need for Menstrual Wellness, Pregnancy Prepare, Menopausal Wellness, Everyday Wellness and Sensual Wellness. The categories were each assigned a colour. The colour system was built in a way to build on for future categories and products.

Iconic Illustrations

We created a modern illustration style that lent to a luxurious visual system representing the concerns addressed by WYN. Using rich icons across the packaging, we see a portfolio of vibrant, science -backed products. For example, the illustration for menopause is evocative of blooming and resurrection while PCOS is inspired by the form of the fibroid. As a team, we designed them to look pattern based and beautiful - the challenge was not to make them look too biological or distasteful.

INFORMATIVE INSERTS AND TRACKERS

Each pack of mints is provided with a tracker, an innovation to helpkeep a track of the dosage. The consumer must fold the perforated slot once they have takentheir mints for the day.

Every product is provided with inserts that provide information. They inform you about the ingredients used in each, give you directions for usage for every product and an idea of what to expect as results from each one.
